Springs Neighborhood Watch Group Nabs 2 For Burglaries
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - Colorado Springs police say four members of a neighborhood watch group cornered two juveniles following a series of burglaries until they could be arrested by police.
Police say the neighbors were awakened by a car alarm early Sunday and managed to catch two of the youths believed responsible.
Authorities say charges are pending against the 13- and 15-year-old juveniles, including burglary of vehicles. They were released after they promised to appear in court with their parents.
Police called it a good example of public cooperation, but said they don't recommend watch groups try to apprehend suspects.
