Goodbye Hughes Stadium
FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4)- Hughes Stadium in Fort Collins is coming down.
Colorado State University's Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium was replaced by a new on-campus stadium this year.
Hughes Stadium opened on September 28, 1968 off Overland Trail in west Fort Collins and closed last November.
The CSU Board of Governors voted unanimously to demolish the stadium. It won't happen until next year.
Plans are to either sell the property or lease it.
