Some Hewlett-Packard Employees In Colorado Could Lose Jobs
DENVER (CBS4) - Hewlett Packard isn't saying how many jobs might be lost here in Colorado, but the computer company does say it will be cutting 27,000 jobs in the face of poor sales.
HP says fewer people are buying personal computers because of smartphones and tablet computers like iPads.
Hewlett Packard has operations in Fort Collins, Loveland, Littleton and Colorado Springs.
The company expects the job cuts to save up to $3.5 billion a year.
It hopes many of those employees will take an early retirement package.
