Another Skier Dies At Telluride Ski Resort
TELLURIDE, Colo. (CBS4) - A 69-year-old skier died at Telluride Ski Resort on Saturday after he lost control on a black diamond trail and slid into a patch of trees.
George Nolan, of Greenwood, South Carolina, was killed just after 3 p.m. on the Coonskin run. He was skiing with his daughter-in-law at the time.
Officials with the San Miguel Sheriff's Office said ski patrollers arrived at the scene of Nolan's crash quickly but weren't able to save him. They said he was wearing a helmet.
"We are deeply saddened by this tragic loss and our thoughts are with the family," Sheriff Bill Masters said in a prepared statement.
A Colorado Springs man also died earlier this month in a skiing accident at the resort.
