Arrest Made After Man Attacks Teen

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - Investigators say they believe they have located the suspect who walked into an unlocked apartment in Jefferson County and attacked a teenage girl.

The crime was reported at approximately 3:40 p.m. on Thursday near West Bowles Avenue and South Simms Street.

The victim, a 15-year-old, was home alone at the time she was attacked by a man. Police said the man attempted to sexually assault the teen.

Police said the teen fought off her attacker but was hurt in the process. The young girl was able to get to a window and watch her attacker drive off in a 1990's model white Jeep Cherokee.

The girl was taken to Swedish Hospital where she was treated and released Thursday night.

So far police haven't released the name of the suspect, but officials said he looks very similar to the person drawn in the sketch that was released earlier.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Tip Line at (303) 271-5612.
