Search For Missing Teen From Walsenburg Reaches Denver
WALSENBURG, Colo. (CBS4)- The search for a missing teenager from Walsenburg has intensified and has reached the Denver metro. Shanelle Bobian disappeared one week ago.
Police believe the 17-year-old may be in the Denver or Arvada area. Investigators say their search has been hampered by uncooperative sources who could end the search immediately if they wanted to help find Bobian.
Police in Walsenburg say they've spoken with sources who know where Bobian is but those people wouldn't say where.
At a rally on Thursday, Bobian's parents begged for those people who may have her to send her home.
"Please turn my daughter in. Give her up, we are desperate for her to be home so we know she is safe," said Bobian's mother.
Police say there is no indication the teen is in danger. No foul play is suspected in her disappearance but Bobian has virtually disappeared; she has no cell phone and her Facebook account has been deactivated.
An Amber Alert was not issued because the case did not meet the criteria.
"She just left with just the clothes on her back. No purse, bags, money, anything. Just left," said Bobian's father Santiago Bobian.
The teen was originally listed as a run away, leaving Aug. 22 after an overnight fight with her mother. Investigators issued a missing person's report on Tuesday after there were no developments in the case.
Bobian is 4-foot-10 and 95 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair with blue streaks in it. She also has an uncolored tattoo of a water lily on her right shoulder.
Her family grows more worried everyday.
"It's been a nightmare, her whole family is worried about her, her friends, this whole community," said Santiago.
