School Bus Driver Suspected Of Driving Drunk
CENTENNIAL, Colo. (AP) - Arapahoe County sheriff's deputies arrested a school bus driver suspected of being drunk while transporting special needs students on a field trip.
The sheriff's office said Cherry Creek School District officials contacted 36-year-old Rodolfo Luna after they received an email from someone saying they saw Luna tossing empty vodka bottles from his parked bus Wednesday morning.
Authorities say Luna failed a voluntary roadside test when deputies contacted him. Sheriff's officials say Luna told them he had drank vodka and cold medicine before driving the bus.
The sheriff's office said Thursday that Luna is being held on $1,000 bail on suspicion of driving under the influence, reckless endangerment, and child abuse.
