Saint John's Episcopal Cathedral Closes Due To Possible Gun Threat
DENVER (CBS4) - Saint John's Episcopal Cathedral in Denver's Capitol Hill neighborhood closed Wednesday afternoon because of a security concern.
Police say the threat was credible enough to cancel all services and events for the evening. A note on the door says there was an apparent "gun threat."
"Unfortunately, these situations do occasionally arise, and we feel a responsibility to take necessary measures to keep our staff and the public safe," Diocese of Colorado Chancellor Larry Hitt said in a statement. "All those involved are in our prayers, and we will work to return to business as usual as soon as possible."
The cathedral has not decided when it will reopen.
