RTD Shows Off BRT Bus That Will Be Used On Boulder Turnpike
DENVER (CBS4) - RTD is showing off buses of the future this week.
Riders on Tuesday in Denver got a chance to look at a bus that runs on compressed natural gas.
Vehicles like it will be used in the bus rapid transit system now under construction on the Boulder Turnpike. The buses run cleaner and cheaper than diesel.
Natty Zola said he's among the bus riders who are excited about the change.
"The bus looks beautiful," Zola said. "It's more efficient, which I'm a big fan of. And as long as it's just as fast, I think it's a good upgrade."
The upgrades to Highway 36 are in the works right now. The project is expected to finish in 2016.
