Roller Coaster To Open At Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park
GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) - An amusement park in Glenwood Springs is set to open a roller coaster on a mountainside in Colorado.
Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park announced that the Cliffhanger Roller Coaster will open on Friday.
The park says the roller coaster on Iron Mountain is located at an elevation of 7,160 feet and is the "highest-elevation, full-sized roller coaster in the United States."
"It's tricky to build a roller coaster on top of a mountain, so the process has taken a little longer than we'd hoped. I have given it a test ride, though, and it has definitely been worth the wait," said park owner Steve Beckley in a prepared statement.
