Police Search For Thieves Who Burglarized Gun Store
MONUMENT, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Monument are looking for three men who smashed their way into a gun store and stole weapons.
Thursday morning, thieves broke into the Tri-Lakes Shooting Supply Store in Monument. Security cameras captured the men breaking through the glass door to get into the store.
One man seen wearing a hat actually uses a gun to shatter the door.
Police hope someone recognizes the men in the video so they can arrest them and recover the stolen weapons.
"The issue of guns on the street is not a concern, it's the issue of guns in the hands of criminals. We have people with guns show up to steal guns and that's scary," said Monument Police Lt. Steve Burk.
Police believe the thieves are between 18 and 23 years old. Investigators said their getaway car is a late model, dark-colored Nissan Altima. Anyone with information is asked to call police in Monument.
