Police Search For Suspects After 3 Shot Outside Bar In Denver
DENVER (CBS4) - Police in Denver are investigating an overnight shooting that sent three people to the hospital.
The shooting happened just after 2 a.m. Monday outside the Cold Crush bar in the 2700 block of Larimer Street. All three victims are expected to recover.
Police are still searching for two suspects. They haven't released a description yet but officers say the two men were last seen leaving the area on foot.
Officers were on the scene for hours Monday gathering evidence and processing the scene. A spokeswoman for the department said because it's an active investigation they're not releasing much information.
According to police, there was a crowd of people outside of the bar. That's when two gunman opened fire into the crowd. Police said they believe the alleged gunmen were aiming for one person but three people were shot.
Two of the victims were critically injured and one suffered an injury that's not considered life-threatening.
Some people who live and work in the area say the shooting comes as a real shock, while others say the event was no surprise.
"The neighborhood is transitioning. There's a lot of different stuff coming together down here and it's a party down here on the weekends, so I'm not surprised," area resident Dan Saltzman said.
"I've always had a blast. I just go in there to dance on Friday and Saturday nights. I've always had fun, I never felt like my life was threatened. It's still pretty shocking to hear something so violent happened across the street," neighborhood employee Marilyn Musil said.
Denver police say they believe the victims all knew each other. Officers are looking into claims that there was some sort of argument before the shooting.
