Police Investigate Murder-Suicide In Wheat Ridge
WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. (CBS4) - Investigators in Wheat Ridge aren't sure why a husband shot and killed his wife of 43 years and then took his own life.
Police say the murder-suicide happened Sunday night at Wheatridge Manor Care Center.
Joyce Schaffer, 69, was recovering for the past 10 months from a broken hip. Police say her husband Donald Schaffer went inside and shot her and then himself.
Family members say the couple was very much in love and are shocked by the shootings.
