Police Find Stolen Wallet From Same Office Where Woman Was Murdered

LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) - Lakewood police have found a wallet that was stolen from the same office on the same day that a woman was found murdered and have released a photo of a person of interest.

The body of Claudia D. Miller, 66, was found at 7 p.m. Tuesday inside an office building near 4th and Urban Street. Police said she was a family law attorney.

Police say credit cards from the wallet were used in the metro area after they were stolen. Police don't think the crimes are related because surveillance video shows the suspected thief is not the same person of interest police who is in custody in Idaho.

"We don't have reason to believe that they're related, but it is a coincidence and we want to establish that it is just a coincidence and that there is no relation," Randy McNitt with the Lakewood Police Department said.

Police are in Idaho to talk to person of interest, Warren Watson, 52. They have not named Watson a suspect but he is in jail on a parole violation. Police say surveillance video shows him using Miller's credit card shortly after her body was found Tuesday.

"He has a lot of information that we'd like to have but it's very possible that someone else killed her and either gave him the credit cards, sold the credit cards or ditched the cards so he may or may not be our prime suspect in the homicide," said Lakewood police spokesman Steve Davis.

Lakewood Detectives are asking anyone who feels they may have information about Warren Watson that would assist them in their investigation to call Crime Stoppers at (720) 913-7867. You may be eligible for a $2,000 reward.
