Platteville Police Chief Gets 2 Years Probation For Embezzling
PLATTEVILLE, Colo. (CBS4) - The former police chief of Platteville will spend 2 years on probation after embezzling money from the town.
Scott Smith admitted to using department fuel cards to fill up his personal vehicle. He says he did it about a dozen times to the amount of about $400.
Smith claimed he had permission from two town trustees, but they denied giving him permission.
In addition to probation Smith will have to pay restitution and perform community service.
