Head-On Crash Closes Parker Road, Leaves 3 Injured

PARKER, Colo. (CBS4)- Emergency crews rushed to Parker Road and Crown Crest Boulevard on Tuesday morning after a head-on crash left three people injured.

The crash happened just before 11 a.m. on Parker Road near E-470.

Investigators believe one of the vehicles, a black Mazda, was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of Parker Road. The Mazda collided head-on with a red pickup.

Ivory Moody was delivering groceries to a church when she found herself in the middle of it all.

"I slammed on my brakes and I saw the black vehicle airborne and I thought, 'Am I going to die?' and I thought 'This is the moment I am going to die,'" said Moody.

The truck that was traveling in front of her rolled onto its side and her car struck it.

The two occupants in the pickup were pulled out along with the driver going the wrong way. His car had burst into flames.

When asked if drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash, Parker Police Cmdr. Chris Peters replied, "Yes, we are going to be spending the next few hours and days trying to figure out the why."

During the closure of Parker Road, traffic was diverted to Crown Crest Boulevard.

"Terrifying, the absolute worst experience I ever had in my life and I would not wish it on my worst enemies ever," said Moody.
