Online Dater Arrested, Could Be Responsible For Multiple Sexual Assaults

GOLDEN, Colo. (CBS4) - A man in custody in Jefferson County is suspected of sexually assaulting multiple woman he met through online dating websites.

Authorities announced Wednesday that Michael Miller, 28, was recently arrested on a charge of assaulting a woman, but they believe there could be several other victims who haven't come forward in the case.

Officials with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said Miller admitted he may have assaulted other women besides the one who came forward. They said they suspect the crimes happened sometime in the past four years.

Officials said they believe other victims in the case may not be going to police because of the "confusion, embarrassment and complexity in explaining the delicate circumstances to law enforcement." They said they are hoping any victims will now come forward.

Police haven't said which dating websites Miller was using, but they said Miller dated "numerous" women and that he got very close with some before allegedly using force to assault them.

Miller is described as being 5-foot-11, weighing 155 pounds, and having hazel eyes and brown hair. Officials haven't said so far where he lives.
