Nolan Arenado Named National League Player Of The Week

DENVER (CBS4) - Colorado Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado has been named National League Player of the Week for the week of June 22-28, Major League Baseball announced on Monday.

Arenado hit .391 (9-for-23) with MLB-best seven homeruns, 14 RBIs, a 1.348 slugging percentage and 31 total bases.

"He scored 10 runs last week, which was good for second-most in the Majors, while posting a .440 on-base percentage," the Rockies said in a statement. "The 24-year-old slugger hit safely in each of his six games, which included three multi-home run performances and two four-RBI efforts."

It's the second career weekly award for the Gold Glove Award-winning third baseman.
