Neighbors Nervous After Deadly Shooting At Apartment Complex

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Aurora have identified the two men shot to death in an apartment Thursday afternoon. Two others were injured in the shooting at Sable Cove Condominiums.

Jovan Rivers, 30, and Harrell King, 33, died from gunshot wounds. The man and woman injured in the shooting lived in the apartment.

Several neighbors told CBS4 there has been a steady flow of people coming and going to the third floor apartment where the shooting happened.

"I had a neighbor just told me they'd come in here for 10 minutes. Sometimes, they wouldn't stay that long," said neighbor Bonnie Stokes.

Stokes heard the gunshots Thursday.

"I heard a baby scream, 'Momma, momma!' Then all of a sudden a cop ran upstairs and grabbed the baby and ran to the car with her," said Stokes.

The toddler was not hurt in the shooting.

One woman said she is fearful for her family and wants to move.

"It's not just him, I have little brothers. It's not safe for them. We can't even come downstairs, I guess, to get a little sunshine," said neighbor Jessica Diaz.

Police have visited that apartment at least 10 times for unspecified reasons. Officers are investigating whether the couple has a license for medical marijuana.

Police believe the two men, Rivers and King, came to the apartment to steal marijuana. No charges have been filed in the case. Police continue to investigate the shooting.
