More DPS Schools Begin To Meet, Exceed District Standards

DENVER (CBS4) - The number of schools in Denver Public Schools that are meeting or exceeding district standards is rising.

Approximately 58 percent of DPS schools are now rated "distinguished" or "meeting expectations."

The district says the ratings show DPS is seeing more academic growth than any other medium or large district in the state.

"It's very important to have a culture of high expectations and collaboration," said Superintendent Tom Boasberg on Monday. "Our vision is every kid succeeding."

The scorecard measures academic growth, college readiness and attendance, along with student and parent satisfaction with the school experience.
