Money Saver: Where To Shop For Kids Clothing
DENVER (CBS4) - A new survey suggests shopping for two children can cost anywhere from $200 to $700, depending on where a family shops.
Researchers from Cheapism.com got a cart full of children's clothes at seven different retailers and compared prices.
"We thought of a family with two kids -- a girl and a boy ages 7 to 10 -- and we filled the shopping cart with underwear, pajamas, jeans, tops and shoes," Max Levitte with Cheapism.com said.
The results were as follows with comparable clothing:
-- Walmart - $218
-- Target - $293
-- K-Mart - $295
-- Old Navy - $386
-- Sears - $546
JC Penny's was almost $600 and a similar basket at Kohl's pushed $700 when shopping without coupons.
Another survey of the teen set suggests they found their favorite back-to-school clothes at Forever 21 and H&M.
H&M is coming to Denver this fall with a downtown location and to the Cherry Creek Mall the beginning of next year.
