Crews Recover Body Of Missing Kayaker In Morgan County
MORGAN COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - Search teams have recovered the body of a kayaker who went missing on the South Platte River on Friday.
The 23-year-old man from Fort Morgan is believed to have drowned near Dodd Bridge in Morgan County.
Platte Valley dive teams say the man was kayaking near a dam when he somehow ended up in the water. Witnesses saw him struggling to escape the dam's powerful hydraulics. The man was reportedly wearing a life jacket but the force of the water was too much to keep him from going under.
The man's kayak was found two miles downstream. His name hasn't been released.
