Mesa State College Votes To Change Name

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (CBS4) - Another Colorado college is changing its name. This time it's Mesa State College.

On Tuesday the trustees voted to change the name to Colorado Mesa University. State lawmakers still need approve the change.

Just last week Metropolitan State College in Denver delayed its plans to change the name to Denver State. The University of Denver opposed the change, saying it would cause confusion.

Metro hopes to make the change next year after doing more marketing.
