Memorial Bike Ride Planned For Hit & Run Victim

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4- A memorial bike ride has been organized in honor of a cyclist killed by a hit-and-run driver.

Police say the accident happened along the road near the entrance Carter Lake in Larimer County on Sept. 20. The cyclist, 43-year-old Jason "Jay" Holden, died on the scene.carter-lake-hit-and-run-5vomap0

A ghost bike now sits in the spot where Holden was killed. He was struck while riding his bicycle. That vehicle took off and then he was struck by a pickup. The truck driver stayed on scene.

Fellow cyclists hope troopers can find whoever is responsible, "I was really sad to see that, especially something close to home. I hope they find who did the hit-and-run."

A vigil ride from Fort Collins to the site of his death for a vigil and dedication of his ghost bike has been planned for Saturday afternoon.

The Colorado State Patrol has released two pictures of a vehicle that may be important to the investigation.

They believe the driver may have information about the first vehicle that struck Holden in the deadly hit-and-run.
