Meet A Family That Could Really Use Some 'Care 4 Colorado' Help
DENVER (CBS4) - Coloradans making their Christmas list and checking them twice should please consider adding a few extra gifts.
The Care 4 Colorado Toy Drive will be held Thursday and CBS4 wanted viewers to meet one family that could really use help.
Arvaisha, G'Tazah and Raizohn spend a lot of time at the Boys and Girls Club.
"My favorite thing to do here at the Boys and Girls Club is hang out with my friends and play with them," young Raizohn said.
They love to socialize.
"It's a really fun place. You get to know a lot of people and have good relationships with other kids," Arvaisha said.
And learn.
"I like to do my homework and play on the tablet in Mr. Wilson's room," G'Tazah said.
The Johnson Club offers a happy home away from an unfortunate living situation.
"We don't have a house right now, we're living with my grandma," Arvaisha said. "We've been homeless for a few years, trying to get into a home."
It's a situation difficult for children to comprehend.
"My mom is telling us everything is going to be okay because now that we're getting older we're starting to understand things more," Arvaisha said.
While their happiness isn't defined by presents under the tree, donated gifts would be a very welcome Christmas surprise.
Drop off a new, unwrapped toy during the collection day on Thursday. The CBS4 team will be out at the King Soopers at Yale and Colorado from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m.
