Mayor Hancock Once Again Putting Up Famous Green Chili In Super Bowl Wager
DENVER (CBS4) - It's worked so far in the playoffs, so Denver Mayor Michael Hancock is once again wagering green chili on the outcome of Sunday's game.
In a bet made over the phone Monday with Seattle Mayor Ed Murray, Hancock also offered up a hoodie, ball cap and skis.
It was a nice gesture, but when the Broncos win Murray will send salmon, Dungeness crab, a road bike and piece of artistic glass.
"The Seahawks and their top-ranked defense will face our Broncos – the greatest, most high-powered offense to ever take the field. Given that matchup, I'm fairly confident that what I'm putting on the line isn't going anywhere," Hancock said in a prepared statement.
More On The Bet
Hancock's office shared the following specifics about the bet:
(Denver wagers) a sampling of Denver's amazing green chile (it's good luck!) from the following local, venerated restaurants: Jack -N- Grill, Little Anita's, La Casita, The Original Chubby's, El Taco De Mexico, and Brewery Bar. ... and a hoodie, ball cap and skis handmade by Denver's locally grown Icelantic Skis.
Murray is wagering salmon and Dungeness crab, a road bike from Seattle's Rodriguez Bicycles, and a piece of blown glass art by Seattle's own Dale Chihuly.
