Man Who Harassed Aurora Families Sentenced In Hoax-Bomb Case
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - An Oregon man who harassed relatives of people killed in the Aurora theater shooting has been sentenced in a separate case involving hoax bomb threats at public buildings in Portland.
U.S. District Court Judge Michael Mosman agreed Monday with a recommendation that Kevin Purfield get credit for more than a year spent in custody, and serve no additional time.
Prosecutors say Purfield was mentally ill when the threats were made in September 2013, and proper medication has restored him to competence.

Purfield was sentenced in June 2013 to probation in connection with the Colorado harassment.
Twelve people were killed and 70 injured in a July 2012 attack at an Aurora movie theater. Purfield told relatives of the dead that the killings didn't happen.
