Man Says Murder Of His Wife & In-Laws Left Him, Children In Lots Of Pain
RYE, Colo. (CBS4) - The man whose wife and in-laws who were killed and set on fire in the town of Rye spoke out about the murders.
Dawn Roderick, 33, and her parents, 51-year-old Reginald Tuttle and 55-year-old Kim Tuttle, were shot to death last week in their home in Southern Colorado. Dawn Roderick's husband, Mark Roderick, says he and his three children are in a lot of pain.
"He took the mother of my children. My wife is not going to be able to watch my daughter walk down the aisle. She's not going to watch her give birth. She's not going to see our two boys grow up and become men," Mark Roderick said.
Authorities are still searching for Harry Mapps, 59, a man who worked for the family and is the prime suspect in the murders.
Investigators say Mapps cashed checks bearing the name of one of the victims in Pueblo and La Junta on the day of the fire.
"If he wants to apologize, I'll forgive him. It'll be the hardest thing I have to do, but I'm going to do it," Mark Roderick said.
Mark Roderick told KKTV his in-laws would give a person the shirt off their backs and they were loving and caring people. He said he was separated from his wife and their children were staying with him the night of the murders.
The U.S. Marshals Service in Denver said Wednesday federal officers are helping Pueblo County deputies look for Mapps.
