Man Growing 'Large Amount Of Marijuana' Found Dead In Routt County, Couple Arrested
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) - The Routt County Sheriff's Office has arrested two people in connection with the murder of a longtime resident.
Investigators say Edward Zimmerman's body was found this week after he disappeared last Saturday.
Authorities arrested Lucas Johnson, 38, after he was seen driving the victim's car. Johnson is facing first-degree murder charges.
Johnson's wife, Kristen Johnson, 40, has also been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.
Police have not released information on where Zimmerman's body was found or how he died.
Zimmerman was reported missing Saturday night after missing work. His sister, who lives in Florida, said that Zimmerman had been growing a large amount of marijuana at his home and some had been chopped down and stolen, according to the Steamboat Pilot & Today .
Police said when Lucas Johnson was pulled over, he was also arrested for felony possession of more than 12 ounces of marijuana.
Kristen Johnson is scheduled to appear in court on Monday. Lucas Johnson is scheduled to appear on March 13.
