Man Drowns While Floating In Tube Down Colorado River

PALISADE, Colo. (CBS4) - A man drowned while floating down the Colorado River on Saturday.

The drowning happened in the afternoon in the river near Palisade. The 45-year-old, whose name hasn't been released, was floating with at least two other people down the river.

When authorities arrived they found the man about 25 feet from the riverbank in less than two feet of water. His friends were attempting CPR but they and emergency personnel were unable to revive him.

Alcohol is believed to have played a role in the drowning.
