Man Claims Roommate Slashed His Face With Sword

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (CBS4)- A Grand Junction man called police after his roommate allegedly slashed his face with a sword.

Officers were called out at about 2 a.m. Tuesday to 2946 Rhonda Lee Road in Mesa County. Police said the victim told them Richard Ries was angry and struck him with a sword.

Officers said when the arrived at the crime scene, the victim had a huge gash in his face and officers could see the victim's teeth and jaw bone through the cut.

Ries, 30, was arrested for first degree assault with a deadly weapon. Police also recovered several weapons from the home where the slashing allegedly happened, including 2 swords, a nun chukka weapon, aluminum baseball bat and a large kitchen knife
