Man Arrested In Death Of Colorado Springs Woman
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - Colorado Springs police have arrested a man in the death of an 87-year-old woman whose body was found after a fire was reported on a dirt road.
Police say 21-year-old Marcus Smith of Colorado Springs was arrested Friday on suspicion of first-degree murder. Details on what led investigators to focus on Smith weren't immediately available.
He was arrested after the death of Colorado Springs resident Kathryn "Kit" Grazioli, whose remains were found early Wednesday. Her death has been ruled a homicide, but the cause of death hasn't been released.
The Gazette reports Smith has a criminal record and was sentenced in October to five years of probation after pleading guilty to second-degree burglary.
The Rev. Tom Trinidad says Grazioli was active at Faith Presbyterian Church in Colorado Springs.
