Longmont Woman Believes Ice From A Jet Damaged Her Home

LONGMONT, Colo. (CBS4) - The Federal Aviation Administration will investigate a report that a chunk of ice fell from a plane and punctured a hole in a house in Longmont.

The homeowner, Susan Zinga, believes ice from a passenger jet caused a 6-inch hole in her home on Cambridge Circle.

Susan Zinga said she's keeping the proof in her freezer. She thinks it's frozen lavatory waste, commonly referred to as "blue ice." There was also a lot of ice scattered on her roof.

Joshua Buck from the Longmont Times-Call took pictures of the ice.

The hole is in the bedroom.

Nobody was hurt.

In 2009 a piece of ice fell from a plane and ripped a hole in a home east of Fort Morgan. Firefighters thought that ice came from a jet headed to or from Denver International Airport.
