Longmont Man Convicted Of 2007 Fatal Crash
BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - A jury convicted a 27-year-old Longmont man accused of driving drunk and killing one of his passengers and injuring five others when he crashed into a tree.
Noah Thomas faces between 14 to 42 years in prison when he is sentenced in April after a Boulder County jury convicted him Friday of vehicular homicide and five counts of vehicular assault. The first time Thomas went to trial in October it resulted in a mistrial.
The Boulder Daily Camera reported that prosecutors accused Thomas of leaving the scene of the June 2007 crash and that he moved one of the injured passengers to the driver's seat. The crash killed 25-year-old Jeffrey Turner.
Deputy District Attorney Michael Foote says it's unclear why the first jury was deadlocked in the October trial.
