Littleton Residents Can't Believe Their Neighbor Is A Wanted Man

LITTLETON, Colo. (CBS4) - The 25-year-old man who police have described as a person of interest in the weekend homicide of a woman in Adams County has a rap sheet that's several pages long.

Officials in Adams County say they would like to talk to Miguel Angel Gonzales about the Sunday morning murder at 5211 Pecos Street, in which Yajaira Zamarippa, 23, was found dead in a vehicle. Authorities released Zamarippa's identity on Tuesday afternoon.

"We don't have any suspects in custody," Adams County Sheriff's spokesman Sgt. Paul Gregory said.

Gonzales was described as being 6 feet tall, weighing 215 pounds and having black hair and brown eyes. He also has numerous tattoos on his arms. They said he is probably driving a maroon 1994 Mercury sedan with oversized wheels and the Colorado license plate 005WTZ.

Neighbors of Gonzales in Littleton where he lives told CBS4 he helps to run a landscaping company with his father.

"He's always doing birthday parties for his kids and always working hard for his parents," said Amy Heath, who is among those who said Gonzales' criminal past is news to them. Gonzales' prior arrests include felony menacing, assault and resisting arrest.

"It blows my mind," Heath said. "I can't believe he would do something like that and someone like that is living next door to me."

Heath said she's concerned that her children have been around someone close by who has such an extensive criminal past.
