Lightning Suspected As Cause Of Wildfire In Larimer County
LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - Lightning is the suspected cause of a wildfire that grew to 8.5 acres in northwest Larimer County on Tuesday.
The Goat Mountain fire is burning in the Roosevelt National Forest near Cherokee Park. Crews said it's 75 percent contained and they hoped to have it fully contained by 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Four structures are within a half-mile of the fire.
A Single Engine Air Tanker (SEAT) made water drops earlier on the fire but has been released for the night.
Firefighters from the U.S. Forest Service, Larimer County Emergency Services and local fire departments are on scene.
