Lightning Strikes Tree In Fort Collins
FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4)- The same storm system that caused flash flooding in the High Park burn area also brought some destructive lightning to Fort Collins.
Copter4 flew over a tree that had been destroyed by lightning on Friday afternoon.
The tree is located at the old Fort Collins High School. That building is now part of the Colorado State University campus.
There are no reports of anyone being hurt in that lightning strike. There are also no reports of damage on the CSU campus other than the tree.
That area was roped off until the debris could be cleaned up. It's not known when CSU crews will be able to remove the rest of the tree.
