Lightning, Heavy Rain Pound Metro Area

Denver (CBS4) - Another round of severe weather hit the Denver metro area Tuesday night bringing heavy rain and an impressive lightning show that lasted for hours.

The downpour triggered a new round of street flooding, and prompted the Denver Mayor's office to issue a warning to the public.  Residents are urged to avoid rivers, creeks and standing water. 

The threat of severe weather is expected to loom over the metro area through Wednesday.
