Leadville Police Department Investigated For 'Irregular' Handling Of Evidence
LEADVILLE, Colo. (CBS4) - An investigation has begun into the Leadville Police Department's handling of evidence.
According to the office of the Fifth Judicial District Attorney, there are accusations of "irregular practices regarding the handling and storage of items of evidence and possible financial improprieties occurring at the Leadville Police Department."
Leadville Mayor Greg Labbe requested the investigation, which began on Jan. 14.
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation is assisting in the investigation.
There haven't been any arrests or charges made.
