King Soopers Ends Rebates For Green Grocery Bags

DENVER (CBS4) - People who shop at King Soopers may have noticed a change at the checkout line.

As of May 1 the grocery chain is no longer offering money back for using recyclable grocery bags. King Soopers used to give a 5 cent rebate per bag for shoppers who used their own environmentally-friendly alternatives to paper or plastic.

The grocer hopes customers will keep using the better bags even without that rebate.
