Judge Rules Soft Drink Tax Can Stay On Ballot
BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) - A ballot initiative in Boulder would impose a tax on sugary drinks and a resident filed a protest asking the initiative be dismissed.
The resident said the petition was too confusing. On Tuesday Judge Norma Sierra heard arguments in the case and issued a ruling that the initiative will stay on the ballot, according to the Boulder Daily Camera.
If passed, it would impose an extra 2 cents per ounce tax on sugary drinks like soft drinks.
