JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)- A Jefferson County Judge has doubled the sentence of a convicted sex offender. Charles Jenkins, 45, was found guilty of sexually assaulting a teen he met in a chat room.

Jenkins will spend 24 years behind bars. Judge Margie Enquist found that there were aggravating circumstances and doubled the maximum range of 12 years for Jenkins.

Jenkins had a sexual relationship with the 15-year-old boy for several months and took graphic photos of him.

Jenkins has four prior convictions for sexually assaulting young males. Prosecutors told the court that Jenkins admitted to 21 prior victims and that his sex offender evaluation reported that he was a "high to imminent" risk to reoffend. The sex offender evaluation recommended the maximum period of incarceration possible.

Jenkins pled guilty to Sexual Exploitation of a Child and Sexual Assault on February 9, 2011.
