'Ho Hum Bandit' To Plead Guilty

Written by Brian Maass

DENVER (CBS4)- The man dubbed the Ho Hum bandit, accused of robbing 24 banks across Colorado, California, Wyoming and Washington, will plead guilty later this summer according to a federal court filing reviewed by CBS4.

"A disposition has been reached in his case with the government," wrote Adam Lynch's lawyer. "Specifically, the proposed disposition contemplates the incorporation of multiple charges in multiple jurisdictions."

Lynch had been scheduled to go on trial this week on a single federal charge, but will now plead guilty August 8.

Jeff Dorschner, a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's Office in Denver said he couldn't comment on the proposed plea deal.

Police arrested Lynch, a 34 year old Irish national, March 19 in Denver after his girlfriend called police saying Lynch confessed to her.

The Ho Hum Bandit was so named due to his laid back attitude while robbing banks and his tendency to yawn or look bored during the thefts.

Lynch's ex- girlfriend, Julia Lundstrom, told CBS4 she and Lynch were together two and a half years but that Lynch lied to her the entire time, to conceal his pattern bank robberies.

"It's going to take a long time to figure out what was the truth and lies because nothing was the truth with him," said Lundstrom.
