Hickenlooper, Hancock Prepare For California Business Trip
DENVER (AP) — Gov. John Hickenlooper and Denver Mayor Michael Hancock are traveling to California to meet with business leaders there about Colorado.
The governor and mayor's offices say Hickenlooper and Hancock want to strengthen existing relationships and encourage California business leaders to look at Colorado when they want to expand or grow companies.
The trip is Thursday and Friday.
Spokespeople for Hickenlooper and Hancock say Colorado and California share similar clusters in industries like bioscience and energy.
The governor's office says the cost of the trip for Hickenlooper and senior staff will cost about $6,000 and be paid for by the state office of Economic Development and International Trade.
Hancock's office says the city's Economic Development office is paying some $1,840 for the mayor and some staff, not counting meals and incidentals.
