Hearing In Suburban Denver On Colorado River Plan
LAKEWOOD, Colo. (AP) -- Federal officials are asking Colorado residents to weigh in on the future of the Colorado River.
They're holding a hearing in Lakewood Thursday evening on the development of a plan to determine the impact of regulated flows on the river.
The plan will address hydroelectricity, water, agriculture and industry in western states while aiming to protect the Grand Canyon and Glen Canyon.
The meeting will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sheraton Denver West Hotel. It's hosted by the Bureau of Land Management and the National Park Service.
Meetings have also been held in Arizona, Utah and Nevada.
