HealthSouth Plans New Hospital In Littleton
DENVER (AP) - HealthSouth Corp. plans to build a 49,000-square-foot inpatient rehabilitation hospital in the south Denver suburb of Littleton.
The Birmingham, Ala.-based company said Monday construction is scheduled to start by the end of June and the hospital should be operating by September 2013.
The company says the new hospital will complement its existing 64-bed hospital in Colorado Springs.
The new hospital will have 40 private rooms and will offer specialized rehabilitation programs to help patients recover from major illness, injury or surgery.
HealthSouth hasn't said how much the hospital will cost to build.
The company says the project will create 300 to 400 construction jobs and will employ about 90 full-time medical professionals in its third year of operation.
