Greeley Woman Sentenced To Prison In Ex's Death

GREELEY, Colo. (AP) - A Greeley woman convicted of conspiring to kill her former husband has been sentenced to the maximum possible term of 48 years in prison.

The Greeley Tribune reports Georgia Watson, 46, dabbed at tears during as she was sentenced Friday.

She was convicted last month of conspiring to kill 44-year-old Jeffrey Watson Sr. to cash in on a $100,000 life insurance policy that named her as the beneficiary. He died in 2009.

Georgia Watson's boyfriend at the time, Cecil Joe Erb, has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for shooting and killing Jeffrey Watson.

Justin Brunner, who prosecutors say helped Erb in surveillance of Jeffrey Watson's home, reached a plea deal for five years in prison. He testified against Erb and Watson.
