Grandmother Surprised By Complete Home Makeover
AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)- A house full of volunteers helped make one woman's dream for new carpet come true-- and a whole lot more.
A total of 15 contractors pitched in to help renovate the home of Vivian Gallegos. The poor condition of the 89-year-old's home was brought to light by her grandchildren who wanted to do something special for her.
She had no idea what was happening because her grandchildren had planned a getaway while the work was completed. Then she returned home on Thursday.
Gallegos was overwhelmed with emotion when they gave her the keys to her "new" home.
She had many reactions including "Oh my gosh, it's nice. I love this!" to
"I don't recognize it."

Those contractors completed the work free of charge-- everything from new appliances, new tiles and flooring to a new furnace and a fresh coat of paint. She will also enjoy air conditioning when the weather heats up.
Gallegos didn't have too many words to express her appreciation, saying she was still in shock but did say, "I appreciate this so much."
The entire cost of the project added up to about $30,000.
