Tinder Sexual Assault Suspect Appears In Court
DENVER (CBS4) - A man accused of raping a woman he met on a dating app appeared in court on Wednesday. Prosecutors say his online behavior was fine, but what happened after has them concerned that other women may have been victimized.
A 22 year-old woman found Darren Auger, 27, on Tinder, and swiped right, indicating she was interested in his profile.
After a week of texting, the two met for sushi on June 9 and walked dogs in Washington Park. She invited Auger back and they started making out, but that's where it was supposed to stop.
The victim said she didn't want to have sex. Police reports say Auger forced himself on her and said, "a lot of girls say no but they like it afterward."
Auger remained in custody on Wednesday.
There are safety guidelines that Tinder urges their users to read before using the app.
