Girl Briefly Abducted From Mosque Playground

DENVER (AP) - A Denver woman is accused of kidnapping a 4-year-old girl from a mosque's playground then returning the girl a couple hours later.

Arapahoe County authorities arrested Aziza Mukhtar, 33, on suspicion of second-degree kidnapping.

Police say the child went missing sometime after 1 p.m. from a playground at the Colorado Muslim Society Mosque. Video surveillance showed a woman picking up the child and walking away; the girl's parents did not recognize the woman.

About two hours later, the mother received a call from an unidentified man who said he was with the missing child and the female. They returned the child to the mosque unharmed.
